Custom costumes are offered at Incognito by Aris & Rome, a Fountain Square shop opened earlier this fall at 1060 Virginia Ave.
The store also handles alterations and modifications to costumes as well as every-day clothing. Other offerings include leather work, latex, foam, plastic appliances or prostheses for costumes, as well as armor and make-up.
The shop is operated by Aris Stokes, who as an artist goes by the name “Aris.” The Rome refers to her 13-year-old son. He helps with creation, including making hats such as top hats and bowlers.
Stokes said she gets a lot of work from such festivals as Renn Faires GenCon and traditional Scottish and Irish weddings.
Incognito is open 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays, noon to 7 p.m. Sundays, and by appointment Mondays.
