Bates-Hendricks residents John and Candace Roberts have opened Indy Rib Kitchen in the former KFC building at 1501 Prospect St. in Fountain Square.
John is the chef and his wife the sous chef at the restaurant which specializes in both wet and dry ribs, with a house-made sauce. He termed his specialty “a unique style of ribs.”
The restaurant also serves burgers, tenderloins, chicken sandwiches, salads and hand-breaded appetizers including fried broccoli, onion rings, mushrooms, gizzards and livers.
Hours are 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays and 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays. Indy Rib Kitchen will be closed Sundays, although that schedule may vary in the future.
