July 7 at 2 p.m.

Adults and families are invited to experience the dynamic world of chamber music with members of the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra.

East Garden Summer Series: Sunset Yoga

July 8 at 7 p.m. Adults are invited to enjoy a motivational and relaxing session in Central Library’s East Garden led by CityYoga. The rain-out location: The Nina Mason Pulliam Indianapolis Special Collections Room.

The Black Women’s Writing Society

July 9 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.

Join members of the society who share a love for the written word. Poets, playwrights, essayists and storytellers are invited to gather in the Center for Black Literature & Culture. Sessions include time for writing, education and sharing.

IndyPL Film QLUB

July 14 at 2 p.m.

Adults and teens ages 17 and up are invited to view and discuss a LGBTQ-themed movie. The film to be shown is Kinsey (r).

East Garden Summer Series: Healing Rhythms

July 15 at 6 p.m.

Adults are invited to East Garden to relax through creative self-expression by using rhythm, breath and patterns of language to rise to a healing state. Drums will be provided, or attendees can bring their own. The rainout location will be inside in the Riley Room.

Aging Well: A Series for Older Adults

July 15 at 6 p.m.

Older adults are invited to learn the steps they can take to live healthier lives with vitality while preventing cognitive decline. These sessions are geared toward adults aged 60 and older, but those of all ages are welcome to attend. This program will focus on handling stress. Learn basic stretching, meditation, breathing techniques and guided imagery to facilitate reduced stress.

Naturalization Ceremony

July 17 at 10 a.m.

The entire community is invited to attend this naturalization ceremony in Central Library’s Clowes Auditorium as individuals will take the Oath of Allegiance to become naturalized citizens of the United States.

That Peace Open Mic

July 18 from 7:30 to 9 p.m.

Visit the Center for Black Literature & Culture for an event where “comm-unity” is celebrated and the “art” of expression is centered.

A Teachable Moment: Film Screening & Discussion

July 20 from 2 to 4 p.m.

Adults are invited to a free screening of A Teachable Moment, a documentary that follows the stories of four stroke survivors and underscores the importance of recognizing the warning signs of stroke. A panel discussion with local health providers and a stroke survivor will follow.

Aging Well: A Series for Older Adults

July 29 at 6 p.m.

Older adults are invited to learn the steps they can take to live healthier lives with vitality while preventing cognitive decline. This program will focus on learning new things. Topics include Alzheimer’s prevention and 19th century architectural styles of Indiana.

Adults ages 18 and older are invited to learn the basics of 3D printing from concept to creation using Tinkercad and the 3D Systems Cube Printer. Dream it, design it, print it.
