North Split update: Market Street scheduled to close Thursday, July 15

From Thursday, July 15, until Aug. 2, Market Street will be closed between College and Highland avenues for overhead bridge demolition as part of the North Split interstate project, the Indiana Department of Transportation has reported.

This is a full closure with Market Street under the bridge closed to all vehicular, bicycle and pedestrian traffic 24 hours a day. The detour will follow Washington Street. Local access will be maintained.

In other North Split developments:

* St. Clair Street will be closed overnight (from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.) from Wednesday, July 14 to July 22 under the under the I-65 southbound collector/distributor to Michigan Street.  The street will be closed to vehicles and pedestrians only overnight and the detour will be temporary.

* The Monon Loop closure has been rescheduled for Friday, July 16. The new path will close between 10th Street and College Avenue all day Friday, July 16, for utility relocation work.

The detour will use the sidewalk along the east side of College Avenue down to 10th Street, then follow the sidewalk on the north side of 10th Street to connect to the Indianapolis Cultural Trail. Visit our Monon Loop page to learn more.
