Eastbound Ohio Street will be closed to traffic at College Avenue from Sept. 1 to 28, weather permitting, as part of the North Split interstate reconstruction project. All eastbound Ohio Street traffic will be redirected to New York Street via College Avenue for the duration of this closure.
In other North Split project news:
* Lewis Street overnight closures are planned Aug. 30 to Sept. 10. From 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. each night, starting on or after Monday, Aug. 30, Lewis Street will be closed under the interstate. The vehicle detour follows 13th Street, Commerce Avenue and 16th Street. The pedestrian and bicycle detours use the Monon Loop.
* Washington Street nightly restrictions are under way. From now through Sept. 17, there will be nightly lane restrictions on both eastbound and westbound Washington Street for structure demolition. Depending on where work is occurring, traffic will shift to avoid active demolition areas. Through traffic and turning movements will be maintained, although motorists should be aware of changing traffic patterns in the area.
* Michigan Street will have daytime restrictions from Aug. 30 to Sept. 10. Weather permitting, the right lane of Michigan Street will be closed under the interstate. The restriction allows crews to drive pile between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m.
