District Theatre production to explore the concept of ‘self’

A journey of “self in the aftermath” is at the heart of What Is This Place?, a play written by Jan White to be performed the weekend of April 22-24 on the District Theatre mainstage. Shows are scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Friday, 7:30 p.m. Saturday and 2:30 p.m. Sunday, with a “talk back” to take place after Sunday’s performance.

The story concerns four women and one man, who each has a reason to be in “this place.” Questions to be answered include: When did they arrive? How did they get here? Why are they here? How do they get out? One this sure, they will not leave unchanged.

Under the direction of Rosana Schutte, the cast features Miki Mathioudakis, Holly Hathaway Thompson, Kelly Kel, Brittany Magee and Chad Pirowski.

The production team includes Amanda Lane, stage manager; Brendan Jay and Jacob Kobza on lights; and Eric Bryant as the fight coordinator.

Tickets are $20, available at indydistricttheatre.org.
