* With a menu ranging from burgers to salmon and New York strips, The Knotted Spoon Bar and Kitchen has opened at 575 Mass Ave, the space once occupied by Nine Irish Brothers.
Other sandwich options include tenderloin, chicken, Cuban and caprese, while the entrees section also features pork wellington, short rib and French chicken. Shareables include scallop cakes, baked brie and ramaki skewers.
The Knotted Spoon features a full bar with 26 beers on tap, in a room lined with 32 television screens for sports enthusiasts.
The venture is the second for owners Greg Cobb, Beverly Steele and Michael Cobb, who also operate B Squared Bar and Grill in Brownsburg.
The eatery located in the Millikan building is open for lunch and dinner seven days a week.
* In a move he called “bittersweet,” Jonathan Brooks has announced that his celebrated brunch restaurant Milktooth will close as he converts the space at 534 Virginia Ave. in Fletcher Place into a “meat-and-three” concept popular in the South.
Brooks said the new restaurant will be named Arlene’s, in honor of his mother. He hopes to open Arlene’s in the spring. In a video post on Instagram, he did not specify when Milktooth would close.
Brooks emphasized that Milktooth remains popular, his decision to close the restaurant he opened in 2017 was not motivated by business concerns. He is also co-owner of Beholder, a fine dining establishment which opened in 2018 just across 10th Street from Woodruff Place.
* Confectioneiress Cupcakes and sweets is now open at 755 Mass Ave, offering a variety of desserts including cakes, cupcakes, cake pops, French macarons, cream pies, cookies and cookie dough shooters.
A very wide variety of flavors include strawberry and cream, almond raspberry, Lemon Drop, Key Lime, Turtle, Cookies & Cream, mint chocolate chip, banana pudding, dark chocolate cookie dough, chocolate chip cookie dough, red velvet, chocolate, and vanilla.
Confectioneiress, which also operates a shop in Zionsville, is open on Mass Ave from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesdays through Sundays. (Confectioneiress report originally posted on Dec. 23.)
