Katie Harris, founder and CEO of Iozzo’s Garden of Italy, knew the neighborhood surrounding the highly rated Italian restaurant lacked a coffeehouse. Her newest venture – Pronto by Iozzo’s – fills that gap.
And much more.
Located at 915 S. Meridian St. in the two-year-old Rise on Meridian apartment building, Pronto is a café and a market. Like Iozzo’s, Pronto has strong Italian roots.
“We believe in using only the freshest ingredients to craft our Italian dishes,” Harris noted in the eatery’s website. “Our menu reflects a commitment to quality and authenticity, ensuring that every bite is a delightful experience.”
With hours encompassing all three meals of the day, Pronto’s menu includes breakfast item (all day), and for lunch and dinner a variety of sandwiches, soups, salads, charcuterie and house-made gelato.
All day, there are house-made pastries. Pronto also features a bar with cocktails and wine. And fitting the coffeehouse theme, a wide variety of coffee drinks, including Italian coffee, as well as teas and smoothies.
The market features house-made pasta (with pasta-making classes coming soon), as well as imported Italian products such as oils, vinegars, pasta, cookies, candies and salty snacks. Customers can also purchase ready-to-bake Iozzo favorites such as lasagna and meatballs. The market will also offer staple items such as small packs of eggs and milk.
The all-day breakfast menu includes such items as three-cheese egg puff (puff pastry, baked egg, mozzarella, provolone and parmesan); crème brulee French toast; pancetta and egg sandwich (croissant, American cheese, pancetta and three-cheese baked egg) and the Roman Forum breakfast sandwich (croissant, black pepper pecorino cream, three-cheese baked egg and
The lunch/dinner menu includes sandwiches such as the capri (rustic Italian bread, roasted mushroom, red bell pepper, zucchini, mozzarella, spinach, tomato and pesto aioli), the chopped Italian (rustic Italian bread, salami, salami picante, mortadella, provolone, mozzarella, banana pepper, oil, vinegar and spices), and the chicken salad (chicken breast, walnut, pistachio, celery, grape, mayo, basil and oregano, served on mixed greens or croissant).
