THIS JUST IN: McGowan Hall yard sale to anchor other Old Northside sales

With Indiana Landmarks taking a year off from its “Treasure Hunt,” McGowan Hall has stepped in to fill the void by hosting a large yard sale in its Delaware Street parking lot starting at 8 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 10.

Old Northside residents are being encouraged to host their own sales on this day. Those who want those sales publicized can send their addresses to director@mcgowanhall.org. McGowan Hall officials said their motivation for the event was to give residents an opportunity to clean out their closets in the hopes that Landmarks resumes their popular event next summer.

Old Northside and other nearby residents with a few less items to sell can rent 8-foot tables for $10 each from McGowan Hall and sell their items on the McGowan Hall lot on Aug. 10.

Bloody Mary’s, Mimosas and corn hole boards will accompany recorded music and bargain hunters. Any proceeds from table rental will be donated to the Old Northside Neighborhood Association for the upkeep of neighborhood parks, signage and other neighborhood beautification projects.
