Celebrate Earth Day 2021 at the Children’s Museum

The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis will celebrate the 51st  Earth Day by partnering with several organizations in a program running from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, April 24,  at the Museum.

Children and families may participate in special hands-on activities and visit a Sustainability Showcase of local organizations promoting their environmental work and responses to climate change:

Solful Gardens, LLC / Meet artist Dr. Jarrod Nicholas Dortch and learn about his mission to make fresh, natural and healthy produce available to all. Create your own piece of art.

Holliday Park Nature Center / Build your own nature journal with Holliday Park staff.

Friends of Ft. Harrison State Park / Create a seed ball with local wildflower seed to plant at home. Learn about the importance of native plants.

Earth Charter Indiana / Challenge each other in a carbon footprint sorting game. See the greenhouse effect in a jar.

IUPUI Earth Sciences / Explore the geologic origin of everyday items, and match volcanic rocks to their origin.

Keep Indianapolis Beautiful / Learn from local Arborists with hands-on activities.

City of Indianapolis, Office of Sustainability / Take a pledge to be part of the solution from Thrive Indianapolis, and learn how you can take action to create a sustainable future.

Flanner House / Make your own origami seed envelope, and take home seeds to plant at home.

Participants can also leave with fun giveaways from Corteva Agriscience, Earth Day presenting sponsor.
