Local street closures will remain closed longer than expected in an effort to speed the North Split interchange reconstruction project. These streets include Ohio Street, 10th Street, Market Street and Commerce Avenue. State highway officials have determined that construction efforts will be more efficient by leaving streets closed – thereby reducing the frequency and duration of future closures. Crews will continue with overhead bridge demolition, structure excavation and pile driving during the closures.
Market Street is currently closed under Interstate 65 between Davidson and Pine streets, and will now reopen on March 18, weather permitting. Eastbound and westbound vehicular and pedestrian traffic will continue to be detoured to Washington Street throughout the duration of this closure.
East 10th Street is currently closed under I-65 and I-70 between College and Highland avenues, and will now reopen on March 25, weather permitting. Eastbound and westbound traffic will continue to be detoured to 16th Street throughout the duration of this closure.
Ohio Street is currently closed under I-65 between College Avenue and New York Street, and will now reopen on March 28, weather permitting. Eastbound traffic will continue to be detoured to New York Street throughout the duration of this closure.
Commerce Avenue nightly lane closures will continue from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. through Friday, March 4.
