Community members seeking a free, fun, and cozy place to take their kids this holiday season should look no further than The Indianapolis Public Library. Throughout December, families can enjoy seasonal programming, including opportunities to meet live reindeer and Nutcracker Sweets performances by the Indianapolis Ballet. Adults can join in the holiday cheer, too, with crafting workshops where participants can make unique, giftable goods.

Immigration in Central Indiana. Central Indiana is home to over 200,000 immigrants who contribute $2.1 billion in annual taxes and hold $6.3 billion in spending power. The Indianapolis Public Library’s upcoming Date and Drafts program, in collaboration with The Polis Center, SAVI, and WFYI, will explore immigration as it functions in Central Indiana: part of the region’s labor market, its neighborhoods, and its role in driving economic opportunity and equity. Doors open at 5:45 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 11, with the presentation beginning at 6 p.m.  Community members can register online to attend and enjoy drinks, snacks, and great conversation.
